Description: Gateways
A woman sits with hands at heart and womb. She has a soft smile that could be accepting and welcoming. Her hair flows into fabric which twirls around her and she is crowned with stars, birds and a shell halo. Painted natural water landscape imagery sits in the background.
In my mind, she is becoming. She is connected to nature, in tune with tides, celestially crowned and blessed by birdsong, wind, wave. The model commented that placing a hand on her heart and womb made her feel strong and grounded. She is open but protected. Aging is a rite of passage and a privilege and she draws on her experience and intuition to guide her, trusting her body and herself. She is an amulet, maybe, our inner mentor, our unapologetic future self.
This is the epitome of 'Rebirth', a re-establishing of self that is more aligned with our inner wildness, inner child and inner ancestor.
