Ritual I - Original Oil Painting

A small figurative painting from the 'Rebirth' series. 

The subject in the painting smirks as only her breasts and shoulders can be seen amidst bubble and opaque water. Water is a strong theme of my work, and self-care, ritual, comfort and pleasure are what grounds and stabilizes us in a time of change, turmoil and questioning. Caring for our bodies in ritualistic ways becomes increasingly important as we age and enter perimenopause, menopause and after.
